Haven’t posted much lately as I’m usually over here with anything baby-related. It already feels like that’s all we think about these days (ie. Are there enough newborn diapers? Should the baby be in our room or its own room? What happens if Furious is working and I go into labour?) But once the little person arrives, it’s REALLY going to be all-consuming–life will never be the same. What’s left here? My dreams and plans will forever be intermingled with this new little person. I hope in my next year off on mat. leave, there will be some time to think about drawing, dabbling and new creative directions… but I won’t count on it! It’s gonna be different, and it’s gonna be different very soon.

I lost my cute, awesome GAP Kids heart mittens (which fit my small hands just right) somewhere around the Jean Talon Market in Montreal back in February while I was just about to get in the car but had to pull up my sagging maternity jeans (I think). See you later heart mittens.

Mystery shirt

Bwahahaha…. Lurgs and Lennie went shopping in Hong Kong and found this awkward shirt with holes in all the wrong places. They decided to make a game of it and get everyone in our cell group to model the way THEY think it should be worn. I had trouble just figuring out where I can stick my head through?!

Lurgs in China

I read Lurgee’s latest travel journal this week. Lurgs travelled with my parents and a band of seniors to China on a 2 week tour followed by 10 days in Hong Kong to visit friends and relatives. It was my dad’s very first time back to Hong Kong after immigrating to Toronto in 1968! The best are the cartoons of my mom – bwahahaha!

How to keep up with two blogs now? The lines are starting to blur in my head. Baby is constantly on the mind, but it’s also melded with inspiration and what I see day to day. I referenced Mary Blair in the baby blog. Have been collecting all her simple geometric drawings from ‘It’s a small world’ over the last while.

Pressing on to a new year

It’s been a long absence. The latter half of this year has been insane. Insane–period. After the holiday hurrah, I’m busy making new lists and transferring notes from the 2011 agenda to my brand spanking new, ultra-CUTE Pony Brown agenda for TWO-TWELVE.

There is much to anticipate next year. Ahem, ummm… by far the biggest is ………….. baby Yee is coming to town! We’re not really sure if you’re a boy or girl right now, but you’re squirming inside and making stronger kicks each week. And, in about 4 months time, we’re going to meet each other.

I’m hoping to start a new blog for the baby. Stay tuned and happy new year.

Painting + bbq-ing long weekend

Furious is in New Orleans this weekend for MB’s (aka. “Money Bags”) bachelor party so I am home alone after shipping him off with the boys last Friday afternoon. I decided to crack open the paint cans and rollers again and get painting.

Lurgs helped me out on Friday doing trim on the doorways, and I finally applied the long awaited second coat of paint to the washroom and our adjoining (also known as the wall that had been accidentally cut through to our neighbour’s side) hallway wall. Feels good to be working on the house again and seeing progress! Other than painting, the rest of the weekend involved eating various kinds of bbq-ed meat :)
