A trip out west
June 25th, 2011Last week we flew out for a west coast wedding on a farm! So happy that Furious and I got to celebrate with the lovely C & D, and all their family and friends who had come from the east and west coast. It was a really special weekend in seeing God’s providence at work. I didn’t know anyone else at the wedding except for the bride and the groom, and I admit it can be kind of boring when you attend a wedding where you don’t know a lot of people. BUT, we had such a great time on our 5-day trip! We came back home late Sunday night and I felt too excited still to sleep :) It was really neat to be able to have a couple days to meet a whole bunch of people, hear their stories, and it was kind of like we were all doing a puzzle together assembling the big and small pieces of how we each fit, and have been a part of this couple’s life.
A very sweet and memorable time!
Photos from the trip are here.
They also picked a great passage as their wedding scripture for the ceremony:
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
– Colossians 3:12-17
In bloom
May 31st, 2011I haven’t posted anything in sooo long. Some flower pictures that I took from flower shopping trip this weekend with Lurgs. Love the Dahlias and Bleeding Hearts. A pom-pom picture is juxtaposed in the middle courtesy of Lennie Kwan, aka. Lennartz! As I was going through all the photos from the month, this seemed fitting.
Lately:
- Resigned from job of 6.5 years
- Celebrated ‘Macy’s’ wedding! (Thank-you to all the helpers who fluffed pom-pom’s all week!)
- Booked 2 tickets to Vancouver/Seattle for C & D’s wedding – back to the west coast we go!
- 1 yummy tapas party
- 4 Bday celebrations
- 1 CPR presentation
- 1 firefighter + a bunch of German kids
- It’s been a busy month. Trying to be still and know that He is God.
